This somewhat special ride for the group with ~50 riders turned up for the ride with the original intent of capturing a new group photo, farewell to Mike Johnston and a shorter than normal ride to cater for new riders. Well we accomplished most of them except for the severely underjudged distance of 138km versus originally planned 100/120km and 3 punctures along the way that stretched the ride to 3pm. Nevertheless it was an enjoyful ride and everyone made safely back. MKH riders will like to bid farewell to Mike and hope that he has opportunity to "repolish up his riding capabilities" in Beijing and extend warm welcome to many new faces that participated in todays ride, knowing that it was a distance record ride for some.
