Update on MKH2009 Jersey

We have officially ordered the Jersey after settling on formalities with our sponsor. We do expect the jersey to be ready for distribution sometime in June. We will do a group photo for website update and also provide courtesy copy to our sponsor. We predict that the first event with the new jerseys will be Ipoh Century ride 2009. Thank you for your patience and support.

We hit 200km on May 1 2009

We have 9 riders (not sure what happened to the rest) turned up at 7am to ride at a somewhat less known route to Kulim-Baling-Weng -Sik and back to Kulim. 3 riders beat their own personal best interms of distance, Congratulations! It was a relatively smooth and incident free ride. The next time we attempt this route it go further north to Nami before turning back. Expected distance will be closer to 250km.

Sat, May 2. Penang Hill -Tiger Hill - Titi Kerawang MTB ride

Ride Date; Saturday May 2

Route : Penang hill via Jeep Track and down via Tiger Hill and Titi Kerawang. Breakfast at Balik Pulau. Followed by a short offroad climb to top of Tun Sardon.

Ride start from bottom of Jeep Track at 7.45am.

Saturday Apr 25 Ride outcome

Normal round island ride but abnormally huge turn out. 14 riders including 1 roadie and 2 triathlete turn out for the ride. Many first timers including Michelle, Arlene (from Phil), and 4 riders from Butterworth and Kulim(http://crankymtbriders.blogspot.com/) came over in the wet morning to join the ride. It was a relatively smooth ride to Teluk Bahang before the bunch split into 2 groups with the faster one having a longer ride and also opportunity to climb Bkt Genting using offroad path. Definitely look forward towards future ride together.

Sunday May 3 Road Ride

"Mee Udang Ride" for those non-local it means "Prawn Noodle ride". We will be riding to Kuala Sepatang for a nice "mee udang" brunch. Ride starts from Jabatan Hutan at 7.30am. Expected distance: 150km++ . For those who wish to have a shorter ride can start at Parit Buntar USM entrance at 8.45am.

What a ride to end Apr 2009

Yesterday is supposed to be enjoyful ride to Tanjung Dawai turnout to be a nightmare of punctures with total 6 recorded stoppages. Due to the huge delay (4 punctures on total on the way there) the group decided to end up in Kuala Muda and another group decided to return to Kulim only to suffer another 2 more punctures on the way back. Total distance covered was only 111km but all returned safely at about 2pm.
MKH suggest that we check our tires regularly and have it check before May 1, 200km ride as a courtesy to fellow riders since it is going to be relatively long ride.

Labour Day - May 1st Road Ride

We will celebrate Labor Day with a Century plus ride (Actual Distance around 200km). Will start from Kulim at 7AM sharp. Route : Kulim Bkt Selambau-Sik -Gulau Baling- Kulim. Mostly rolling terrain with 2 major climbs. Pls be punctual as this is a long trip, again take note that starting time is 7AM sharp not the usual 7.30am from Jabatan Hutan. This will be a controlled/constant speed ride ie ~30kmh all the way with no abrupt accelerations. For those who have not attempted 200km, this will be your chance.

Janamanjung Fellowship ride is set on 14th June. Closing Date 14th May. Reg Fee : rm 40. While Ipoh Century ride will be on 19th July.
