8 MKH riders participated in Indonesia Tour de Toba 2008 from june 13-16. The race consisted of 4 stages from Medan-Brastagi-Permatang Siantar-Parapat-Semosir Island. 4 nations ie Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore participated in the race under 3 age catagories. 6 MKH riders participated in Veteran(35+) and 2 Senior(open) category.
Overall good results for the MKH team with everyone completed entire distance and 7 podium finishes over the 4 days. In the open classification, Khalib and Stephen together with 2 other Malaysian riders clinched 2nd overall team event while Danny and Ching Hoe were 2nd and 3rd on veteran general classification. Other worth mention is that Malaysia dominated to Junior event clinching many podium finishes and also top the junior general classification. '
Pic: Road condition was generally poor and rough transportation between races and hotels pose challenging especially for those with mint conditions bikes. All our bicycles were not spared from minor to major scratches. There were one stage where we saw bicycles were tied on bus roof top
On the final days all participants got a chance rest under the beautiful atmosphere of lake Toba and also Medan, We chose to rent some motorcycles and head to the Somosir Island mountains and stroll around Medan city on local "bike-shaw".
