Saturday Feb 28 MTB in Penang

Route : Jeep track up penang hill - Iron Cross - Titi kerawang - Bkt genting
Difficulty : moderate to hard
Meeting point : bottom of Jeep track at 7.45 sharp.
For those from south ..will start at 7am from Sg Ara.

Bok Sim, one of our hardcore MTB rider, has promoted to become a daddy today. His wife delivered a 4.2kg baby girl (so big ler). Both mother and daughter are in tip top condition so as daddy (super happy, happier than reach Penang Hill in less than 40mins HA!)

Enjoyful joint MKH-UCI northern ride

About 50 riders turned up for for the northern ride. About 10 riders from Ipoh(UCI) and one from Cameron turned up for the memorable event. All support and plan went smoothly and every one arrived safely as group after 158km of mixed terrain conditions...including kampong road !!! Without great friendly cooperation from all riders and the many support people, not to mention 4 support cars and 2 support motorcycles, the event would be difficult to manage given the nature of ride. MKH organizing committee would like thank all involved during, before and after the event. Hilite of the day : Our lead vehicle support was incredible - he stopped all vehicles at intersections to make way for riders....Unlimited supply of drinks and bananas...Out of town visitors was never alone through the whole ride.. Mike, our only "Mat Salleh" was the champion puller for the event, never short of energy...and so on. Low light, one small puncture just before Kg Masjid....Pity that P2K (KL) riders could join us for the fun ride....maybe next time.

Saturday Feb 21 Casual/easy MTB ride to Penang Hill

Easy ride to Penang Hill via Jeep track and down to Air Itam. Start at 7.45 from the guard post. For those travelling from the south (Bayan Lepas, Sg Ara area), we will start at 7am sharp from Sg Ara's YoYo cafe. This is a short ride eta Air itam at 10am.

Sunday Feb 22 - Fellowship Ride with P2K(KL) and UCI(Ipoh)

This is a friendly fellowship kind of ride with cycling club from KL (Peleton2K) and Ipoh UCI (United Cyclist of Ipoh). Total distance is 158km covering lots of outskirts of Kedah and northern Perak. Will start from Jabatan Hutan at 7.30am sharp. The ride will be supported by couple of support vehicles and some light refreshments. Most of the terrain are rolling and expect a short but relatively steep climb at KM 73 for approx 800m and 4 big/short rolling hills at Km 90 onwards. As we will be riding at quiet and less explored areas, food/waterstops/petrol stations will somehow be limited. We will make 2 official food/refreshment stop at 87 (Kampung Masjid) and 110km (lunch stop at Selama, Perak), couple with 2 regroup points at km 70 and 147 where it is possible to double up as water points too. There will be no official breakfast stop (due to remote location limitation), so pls make sure that you have your breakfast before the start and have enough supplies to last at least the first 70km of the journey. Attached is the simplified directions for the entire route. Looking forward to see all of you this weekend.

Valentine day special - Double puncture

MKH 2009 Jersey is finally open for order

MKH 2009 team jersey and bib is open for orders now. We are proud to announce that we have a sponsor ie. Straits Orthopaedics from USA . The cost of the Jersey,BIB,T-shirt, matching socks and gloves will amount to RM 400. This is partly sponsor pricing will be limited to the first 80 sets or by Feb25 order deadline, which ever comes first. The price beyond that will change accordingly and will be published later. Note that MKH is a non profit group, hence the pricing is purely to cover the cost of jerseys + accessories.
